why does it seem that so many sorority girls here get recruited skinny then graduate heavier... how do I avoid this?

Here’s what you gotta do to avoid weight gain: walk everywhere, drink lots of water. Be mindful of portions. Try not to fall into the muchies/drunchies. Choose your alcohol wisely, that’s where a lot of the traps are (go for a white claw or truly). Commit to an exercise routine that’s realistic for your lifestyle and ur good to go
