Advice for pnms
by: :)A piece of advice for pnms is BE HONEST with the actives you talk to!! If you really like a house and could see yourself there tell them that!! They may not realize you like them that much or it may put you on their radar where you may have not been before! And this is not being said for you to say this to every house so maybe they’ll keep you only say it where/when you mean it. If you can’t see yourself somewhere don’t fake it to the actives that takes away from a girl who may really want to be in that house! :)

If you get to sisterhood and realize you want to pref this house, tell them! Say "I've really loved talking to all of y'all and I really can see myself in X. Y'all are so ____ and so _________ and even on zoom I can tell this is house I would love to be in. At pref, if you 1000% know which house you DON'T want say "I really think I found a home in another chapter, but I really think y'all have a great sisterhood too. Ask them why they picked X house and just keep being friendly. IF YOU WANT X HOUSE AT PREF SAY: I REALLY THINK I WANNA BE A(N) X! Y'ALL ARE JUST SO BLANK AND BLANK AND I FELT LIKE THE BEST VERSION OF MYSELF TALKING WITH Y'ALL. Maybe smile a bit and cry a little if that's your thing. I love this house so much...and yada yada. Make it super clear. If you are 100% unsure and totally 50/50 before pref about what house you want, ask them why they went X house and say that you would love to be in their house. It's better to play it safe and potentially be on both of your pref houses' quota, so you could make the final decision. Pref is honestly the only time most PNMs really get a choice during recruitment, so better to be you choosing the house over them choosing you

My advice is to stay off this website starting now especially during rush. It will just get more and more toxic over the next few weeks. Many of the people won’t even be bama students just people wanting to cause drama and spread rumors. I would also advise not to come on her after bid day. It will be nothing but mean petty posts about who got the best/worst pledge classes 5 minutes after bids go out. This is your recruitment and your decision. The fewer outside influences you listen to will make your choice that much clearer. Trust yourself and your feelings!

Not during pref round. They want you to be where you see fit. If you lie and say you want to join their house they could rank you higher on their bid list than your number one. Which means you would likely end up in the house you don’t want
