People saying names...
by: PeopleMaybe y’all don’t understand how the internet works or what an IP address is but if you cyber bully and law enforcement is involved - which it can be bc it’s a crime - they will be able to find who you really are with ease. Stop posting peoples names. If not bc it’s morally wrong stop bc you can be found so easily. Nothing is truly anonymous.

Clearly it's you who has no idea how the internet works. You'd need administrative privileges and a court order to get an IP. Even then the ISP would to be served a warrant to release records which isn't gonna happen with an anonymous website. Definitely not over names redistributed from social media platforms.

Posting someone’s name on a Greek life forum is NOT cyberbullying. Is it rude or mean? Sure. Could you be prosecuted for it? Absolutely not. In order to meet the legal definition for cyberbullying, the messages must be threatening or intimidating in nature (ex. threatening to kill or harm someone.) Even then it’s incredibly difficult to actually prosecute.
So your reasoning of telling people to stop if not because it’s morally wrong then because of “how easy it is to be caught” is just stupid.

Yes all those things would obviously have to happen. That’s why I said it would have to be a CRIME and have LAW ENFORCEMENT involved. And if the bullying is severe enough then yes this would be an action taken. If someone hurts themselves over the messages found action would be taken. Not saying anything too severe has happened yet but once you start naming names it’s a slippery slope.
