should pnm's reach out?
by: pnmas a pnm, if we are interested in a sorority and they haven't messaged yet us is it okay if we message them first? what do actives think about pnm's messaging them first?

As an active I would LOVE it if a girl reached out to me. Ask a question for them to answer so you can get the convo going. Girl shoot your shot with over 2,200 pnms some girls slip thru the cracks so please reach out it won’t hurt you it will only help your chances during rush.

Send them your stats and ask about what might fit you.
For example. What house could I get a bid from without being a filler girl?
5'9" blonde; 33,25,33; upper-middle class OOS (Florida), no legacy, no connections; average gpa; no prefs

This is hard bc we don’t know specific details of how this rush is going to work so we can’t give y’all tips and advice for a lot of the rush process bc we have not experienced what it’s going to be like over zoom yet. So you can ask questions about the school and town ( examples: what are the best places to get nails done/ hair, cute boutiques, suggestions for restaurants that you can go to with your roomates and to take your parents to, what are some good clubs to join, if you can tell which dorm they lived in from their insta ask them about the vibes in the dorm and tips on anything you should get that would be helpful living in the dorm) if you have a rush question that’s not about the zoom process or bid day you can ask about that as well.

Look we can’t hold your hand through everything. This person gave you really great advice about what to talk about but if you can’t even figure out how to introduce yourself to someone you’re going to have a REALLY hard time with the conversations during rush. You should really start practicing with people now to get more comfortable with it

It shouldn’t be sorority specific, positive panhellenic contact should only be about sorority life in GENERAL not their own sorority
