Virtual rush
by: PnmI’m not going to be the 10000th person to get on here and complain about not being rushed. I’m actually asking if I haven’t been rushed really and not many girls have reached out to me, I can expect to be dropped from the harder houses because they probably have their lists made by now? I’m just asking so I can prepare for what to expect and not be devastated when I don’t get many back

Ok lets be honest here if you aren’t being rushed then yes you should expect to be dropped by some of the top tier houses. Especially this year. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find a house you love. But you should go in expecting the top tier houses if no one has shown an interest in you this far. Especially this year they already know who they want.

But obviously try hard in your convos anyways bc you never know what the numbers look like and what houses need more girls. And honestly a lot of these sororities are more alike than they are different. As long as its not a bottom bottom house it’s all a similar experience that you can make the choice to enjoy. But I do think having realistic expectations will help you mentally during the tough week.

I’m def going to make the most of it and try my best to make connections even if I’m probably not getting a bid! I have an open mind and will be really happy with whatever happens as long as I end up somewhere I can make friends. Thank you!

I think it’s problematic to say that you can’t enjoy or have fun being in a “bottom” house. I’m in a house that most people consider bottom or lower mid (it’s debated) and me and my sisters love it there. We have the same events and experiences as everyone else. The only stat that I think would give you a different experience would be sdt, since they’re a lot smaller and not as well funded

That’s what’s meant by bottom bottom. SDT is meant for some people but not all. That’s why I said that most are more alike than different.

If you can carry on a conversation in person you so will be able to virtually also. I think PNM will get dropped or kept about the same as live rush. I think the differences will be who PNM choose to keep because they won’t be able to get a feel for the entire house.

I just want to say when I rushed I went in with the same expectation I had maybe 5 girls comment on my pics in total I’m from far oos with no connections and I preffed 2 old row houses. Do we have target girls we want? Absolutely but that is not to say the list is set. At least for my house we know we can find a really cool girl during rush that wasn’t on our radar to begin with. Don’t be discouraged!! I definitely thought after ice water teas I was going to have 0 old row houses and when I got my card that morning I was very pleasantly surprised. :)
