Can you get a bid without recs

I don't no anyone in greek life so I don't have any rec letters will I still be able to get a bid from a sorority

my sis had 0 recs and only kept four houses after open house, but kept those four up until sisterhood and two for pref, so yeah it's possible.

I am sure that had more to do with her gpa than rec’s. First round cuts are usually don’t by gpa .

I mean....she has a 4.0, is pre med, and in honors college. so no, it wasn't bc of her gpa.

What about girls from your high school who have gone on to sororities at other colleges?
Have you tried getting recs from local Panhellenic alumni associations?

some houses will definitely drop you but like a few other posts have said being in a top vs a bottom house honestly doesn’t matter as much as every on here will make you think. honestly only the freshman care for like their first semester. what’s going to matter is the relationships you make and you can have a great experience in any house. if you want to try and get recs though I’d recommend just posting it on your facebook/insta story because you’d probably be surprised how many people you’re connected to somehow that can help you find a rec and if you can get in touch with one, lots of alumni are willing to write them even if they don’t know you personally if you just send them a resume.

There are ways to get recs even if you know nobody. Find your local alumnae chapters and contact them

Ridiculous. Recs are very important. It is VERY easy to get them. No one in my family had ever gone greek. Also Im far oor, So my mom started asking her friends and friendly co workers. I asked around with my friends parents, favorite teachers, coaches, women in ny church. That took care of 13. I got the rest by contacting local panhel. 2 were coffee dates and one was a few "get to know you emails".
And honestly if you are a real pnm you would of been on lockdown with nothing else better to do. Getting recs shows us you PUT IN THE EFFORT to do so.

So because you’re international you’re simply unable to send a few emails and contact people? There’s literally lots of videos on YouTube explaining how to do it. Not having rec letters just make you seem lazy and entitled
