i’m not from around alabama so i don’t know what’s considered top tier and the rankings on gr change a lot, can you name specific houses ? thank you :)

There’s a lot of girls that come in without connections.
KD/Kappa: heavy cuts based on where you are from. these are the two houses where connections really matter. heavy mtn brook,
AXO/AGD/XO: heavy cuts based on gpa and tend to lean towards more southern pnms (but they do have a mix of girls! I know girls from California, Florida, Chicago, Ohio, and even some Northeast girls in both of these!!) looking for the more laid-back, smart, involved girls.
Tri Delt/Phi Mu: less connections based, less grade focused than houses previously mentioned, but still hard to get a bid from. will look into your financials (money matters) and wants girls with a mix of party/involvement.
Zeta: makes heavy cuts like old row, but for completely different reasons. gpa is less of a factor. they want pretty, financially well-off (money matters), party girls. you could have the best gpa and the best involvement of any pnm, but if you don’t fit their look you will be overlooked and are most likely not receiving a bid (sad but true)
Obviously other houses cut pnms as well, but these are the houses that I feel make heavy cuts first round and through out the week (from what I saw when I went through rush and talked to fellow pnms)

This is very true but it can help to have an idea going into it if which houses most likely won’t keep you if you’re from far OOR with 0 connections, not rich, etc. so you don’t get attached or envision yourself in that house before they drop you. It helps with the rejection to know it’s nothing you personally did wrong

just because you have 0 connections and are southern OOS doesn’t mean every old row house will drop you. I don’t know why people think that and why that’s a common misconception. It all depends on your grades and looks honestly (sorry but it’s true). If you have a good GPA you will appeal to CERTAIN old row houses that take OOS members.
