Phi Mu is only Old Row out of pity

Phi Mu was added as an "I'm sorry" from the Machine because they (the Machine) beat up a Phi Mu (Minda Riley) because she tried to run for SGA prez against the Machine's candidate. The Machine did horrible things to her and physically assaulted her. That is the only reason Phi Mu was added to old row. Old Row was always 6 frats and 6 sororities. Phi Mu makes 7 because they were an afterthought.

why does the old row/new row stuff matter? i’m a pnm and honestly, i feel like more than half of pnms couldn’t care less which “row” the house they end up in is, unless ur from alabama to start with. i can see why it matters to all the people that are AL born and raised and come from a long line of bama alumni within their family maybe trying to go old row. but being completely honest, no one else cares. it’s become irrelevant, people are after all sorts of houses i don’t think houses in old row are any better than new row houses because some of the new row houses there are becoming increasingly more popular year by year, and climbing to the tops of PNMs interest.

oh 100%!!!! i personally have new row houses at the top of my list, i’m OOS, and just feel some of those houses might be better fits for me. but all 3 of my suite mates, and some other girls ive met are also after new row!!! maybe because we’re all out of state, i don’t know. but old row/new row isn’t as important to PNMS as some people believe....

Hello PNMs, you are not on campus yet. You have absolutely no right to rank houses or to have opinions about any houses if you haven’t meet girls in those houses. Don’t judge an entire house of 300+ people, when you don’t even know one. Aside from the grade report and social media, you know absolutely nothing unless you have friends that are active. Remember that.

Right. Is it me or does any other pnm feel like most of the friends they ask going through recruitment couldn’t care less if a house is old row or new row? I’m from out of state so I understand I might not get the big deal but still. Most of my friends going through recruitment with me this upcoming fall have the top new row houses as their top choice going in. So I really don’t get why people are trying to bring the OR/NR debate back up
