are gpas going to be different

by: pnm

is it true that sororities are going to be more lenient with gpas? i saw a post that said a girl with a 2.8 could get in a sorority that has a 3.0 requirement and same with 3.2 and 3.5

Idk about specific gpa differences or a particular change in gpa cut off, but I could see houses being more lenient with the grade thing especially if they really like you during rush.

Not gonna happen. No GPA adjustments just because this freshman class has lower than usual. The top houses will still have their same cutoffs and it will affect the bottom houses by them having to take the 2.8 and 2.9 girls.

No GPA adjustments. You should have studied harder.

Most of the stuff people say on here is just speculation and guessing. If you have a 2.8 good luck getting a bid unless a house absolutely loves you

funny how that is said. I know someone who had a 2.8, OOS, and got a mid level house last year. PNMS pls don’t be afraid most houses take grade risks every year. highschool doesn’t define you

Ok so because it happened for that girl, this pnm shouldn’t be realistic about her limited options? I didn’t say it never happens, I said the house has to really want you. Yes most houses take a couple grade risks but lots of girls get dropped for grades too if they aren’t super strong in every other category. so you gotta be realistic

By mid level she means alpha phi, the absolute lowest in grade reports and they would rather take a h o e than a housewife. If you couldn’t be bothered to worry about grades before then you will end up where you belong no worries

I know an OOS girl who had a 2.8 gpa and got a top tier new row house (and she had a full rush card every round...only houses who dropped her were alpha gam, alpha chi, and chi o)

If you have below a 3.0 you get a one-way ticket to “Sigma Town” aka SK or SDT.

Not true at all. If you have a 2.8 you’ll be lucky to have one house left to go to.

there will be no GPA adjustment. If you couldn’t get out of high school with more then a 2.8 college is going to eat you alive.

I had a 2.8 and was super realistic during rush. I’m the complete opposite of the Alabama standard of beauty and I’m far oos. I had 7 houses back for philanthropy and 4 for sisterhood. I had my top two houses all week for pref & ended up in one of the houses with top grades. Literally be yourself and you’ll thrive! Rush isnt scary & everything happens for a reason
