Theta Chi or Phi Delt

My nephew is being rushed by theta chi and Phi delt. I am a (not very involved) alumnus/former active from Alabama of one of these chapters. From what I remember he can’t go wrong with either. Should I contact the chapter to recommend him or can he handle it on his own? I know its totally different from sorority rush.
