money in houses

by: pnm

I’ve seen a lot of posts about ho certain houses can be focused on getting girls with money and all so that they can put more money into the sorority w donations and stuff. How do they find all of this out about people? I’m ive heard of zipcoding but a lot of people on this site deny it. How are they supposed to figure out if ur rich accurately/why is it THAT important to them?

Most people include their parents’ jobs on their social resumes which helps houses generalize that type of thing. I don’t think many houses recruit based off of how much money a pnm’s family has, but I have heard of Phi Mu, Tri Delt, KD, and Zeta doing this the most.

All of the houses want to get some kind of feel for your financial situation, but most of them don’t care if you’re rich or not and won’t drop you for not being rich (I say most because some houses are a lot more superficial/judgmental than others). Sororities at Alabama are expensive and they just want to gauge whether you will be able to afford it or whether you will drop after getting a bid because it’s too expensive for you

Your red writes will include this info in your recs. My sorority’s recs have a specific question asking about it.
