The truth on AOII and Theta

Are they competitive more than given credit on this site? People are always ranking them in the last tier but I have heard low grades can get you cut from Theta and not having a rec and good background can shut you out of AOII. Is it unheard of for girls to pref at either Theta and AOII and have an Old Row house also to choose from?

I was a legacy for phi mu. I prefed AOII and Phi Mu. Many of my friends were in AOII, so I ultimately decided to choose AOII because I felt it was the best fit for me. Not everyone goes through rush to get into a “top” house. There is a fit for everyone. AOII and Theta are desirable for many people. My point with all this is to say go with your heart, not with what Greek rank tells you to do!

I truly think that if you plucked the Bama AOII chapter out of Alabama and put it at another school, they would be undisputabley "middle tier" or "upper middle tier", no question. There's definitely enough cute girls in there and they have a real sisterhood.

AOPi is solid middle tier house. Theta isn’t quite their, but they are working for it.

I would honestly give AOII more credit they are at least trying to rebrand nationally with that cool Alpha O tagline. Then they had HoCo Queen a couple of years ago. But both are more diverse with girls from other regions and interests
