New sorority????

If a new sorority was going to come to Bama and join like the Panhellenic council, which one would it be?
My guess would be tri sigma or alpha xi delta bc they are pretty big nationally

No National organization is in the business to sink millions of dollars into a new mansion without an established alumni base and steady stream of fees to payback the amount invested.

Ehh not so sure about that, new chapters colonize all the time and throw millions into a new house without an alumni base from the particular school they're colonizing at, especially in the south because a house at most southern schools is necessary to keep up with the other chapters

Yes, they have a house plan. Currently checking sites, etc. They will definitely be getting a house. And the Alpha Phi rumor is actually true. If they get kicked off, SK will get that house. I heard APhi has two "strikes" so far and one more and they are gone.

Honestly don’t know where sk or any other chapter that comes to bama could even build a new house. Regardless of whether they have funding, sorority row is pretty much full at this point

There are a couple of older buildings around sorority row that potentially will be torn down to make more space. Also I’ve heard rumors of AKA moving into alpha gam’s old house and SK combining the lots.

this is my as unbiased as possible opinion on how the sororities hold up nationally, just based on how nationally well-known and talked about they are, # of chapters, etc. No order in groups bc i think everyone's opinion would differ on which is the strongest of each group
kkg, xo, dg, ddd, theta
zta, pi phi, adpi, axo, kd
aopi, phi mu, gphi, dz
agd, sk, axid, sdt, dphie
sss, aephie, aephi, asa, ast, pss, tpa
It's pretty clear that Bama pretty much only has the stronger sororities nationally, and so based on that logic I think the next one in line would be be the next strongest nationally.
And yes I know "national ranks" are pretty pointless but my state is still quarantined and im bored and have nothing better to do rn lol. Feel free to disagree with my rank and theory i'm just bored

Oops i suck I forgot aphi and listed aephi twice. I would put aphi on the second line between adpi and axo, i know they don't have a good national rep but they do have a lot of chapters and initiated members and are very well known.

I might switch DDD and Pi phi bc ddd isn’t strong across all regions (esp west coast, north) like pi phi is? Idk I feel like almost any of the second row could be switched with tri delt

The University needs many new chapters, quota is way to large and chapter sizes are way too big. I am sorry houses over 400 members is ridiculous, I bet you have girls who probably don't even know the name of some girls in the house or know they are a member if they saw them in class. With the amount of girls going through rush they need to add probably 5 more houses to the mix.

400+ person houses is insane and hurts the sisterhood. It's time to bring in other houses. UA only picking one was a failure by the administration to recognize that they've built the sororities into glorified dorms, and not Greek organizations.
I truly don't trust UA, even the most Greek Board of Trustees members, to understand how Greek Life has changed.

The NPC really does not advise bringing on more than one chapter at a time. More often than not one will become the desired new chapter and the other will fail. Generally you give a new chapter a few years to establish itself before bringing on a new one.

I’ve heard rumor that sk would get aphis house since they’ve been in so much trouble with the school lately but that’s 100% rumor so take it with a grain of salt
