bama vs midwest

hi i don’t go here but i’m in a chapter at a large big 10 school in the midwest and i’ve noticed our greek life is really toxic. everyone is trying to outshine each other and spread rumors about other chapters and it’s generally just kinda negative. people will claim that you’re not relevant unless you’re in one of the top ~6 sororities (we have like 20 on campus) and people try so hard to tear other houses down.
bama is like the biggest school for greek life in the country, is it like that here too?

Yes. It's the same everywhere. You allow people to separate into tribes and they will inherently compete with each other. Big 10, ACC, SEC, California, doesn't matter.
It'll pass with time. Care less about your sorority and more about school, you'll realize quickly how little it actually impacts.
