as a rushee.. I'm curious, how hard is it to keep your GPA above ~3.0 during pledging?

Couldn't be said better. Someone has taken a great deal of their time knocking down Phi Delt, Beta, Delta Chi and Sigma Pi to name a few. That speaks louder than any single rank.

another way to look at it is the more rating a fraternity has the more it generates from others. Ex. Pike and ATO do a lot of self ratings and since pike is probably more like 7th best house it generates more ratings cause everybody else want to bring them to the right level. But SAE who probably is number 1 or 2 doesnt rate themselves and nobody disagrees with them being 1 so they dont have many

I agreed with below under the condition that Sigma Nu and Phi Gam rebound from last year. However I'd they don't, then Pike and Theta Chi are 4 and 5

looks like Sigma Nu, Phi Gam, Pike, and Theta Chi will be pretty interchangeable based on opinion and how much stock is put in old/new row. I think Sigma Chi will also jump into that category with their new house.

Damned hard @GPA. All houses will require you to make their gpa standards before initiation. Then again, a good, solid pledgeship isn't meant to be easy....that's point.

This website is a joke. I advise rushes not to make any kind of judgements off what they see here. I have friends is several other fraternities, Old Row and New Row, and our fraternities get along great. GDI's and Bottom Tier fraternities try to make it appear as if we all fight, but that is NOT the case at all. There are few fraternities I would advise someone not to pledge (DTD, Delta Sig, Chi Phi, AKL, Phi Psi), but other than that, your decision should be based solely off where you fit in and feel comfortable or else you'll be miserable for four years.

How long is Beta on social probation. I have heard everything from a semester to 2 years.
