Don't know what the def is for "way" out of state, but unless your a muscle shirted guido dweeb, you would probably get a bid from all mentioned except SAE.Throw in some others mentioned below and you will be fine.

can you still get bids like first couple weeks of school? or do they just give them all out during the summer?

as far as the better houses,very few bids are given out during fall rush. the better houses give out MAX 8 bids during fall rush so your chances are very slim ecspecially because of how hard it is to stand out in a positive way when your time with each house is so limited. my advice is to go to any summer rush events they have left so can spend some real time with that house

The better houses are in no order: theta chi , sigma Nu , pike, DKE , phi gam, ATO , SAE , KA

Others to check out are : beta, phi delt, pi kapp, and sigma chi

After that it goes from average to terrible real quick

houses are pretty much the best 12 ones, past that it gets bad but any of these and you'll be good. SAE, DKE, KA, ATO, Pike, Sigma Nu, Theta Chi, Lambda Chi, Sigma Chi, Phi Gam, Pi Kapp, and Phi Delt. I dont think there is a single person on campus that would disagree with this.

Why is Beta so bad? They have a good house on a great location
