^this isn’t true. Most sororities wear white dresses or skirts/tops for rituals. You’ll have time to get one though if your sorority requires it so don’t stress about that rn and focus on getting a bid first

Most houses the first week will have you wear white for pledge ceremony. That can be white jeans, white skirt, white skort, all with a white top or plain white tee or a white dress. It really depends on the house. If you find a cute white dress, go for it. If you have one, bring it. The Supe store and lots of the local boutiques carry them at the beginning of the year or you can just borrow. It’s really not a brain strain and every house is different.

My house has informal pinning done right after retreat (or sometimes during, just depends), formal pinning the second week of school, and then initiation. A white dress is required for formal pinning and initiation. I think most sororities wear them for at least initiation although a few require floor length.

one of the moms in the Facebook group said that “many chapters, not all, require a modest white dress for rituals. Your daughter will need it her first week for the pledging ceremony”
