Because it will be a values based recruitment and social media points will fade in comparison to class, GPA and involvement

Only by the more selective houses.

Honestly probably so because we will be relying on tangible info to make cuts like GPA/activities/clubs etc. We also know that girls can make themselves look reaaaaally cute on social media so looks like most likely be irrelevant for most houses.

The downside is, I can think of several girls in my house who only made it past GPA cuts after IWT because they were extremely honest about special circumstances that affected their HS GPAs. PNMs if you have something like this make sure your rec writers know so they can include it.

and have your guidance counselor write a supplemental academic rec since this might make a difference especially this year.

But she said that she's a sophomore...what can she do in this instance. Get her grades up...wait and try COB?

Nationals is worried about numbers. That’s why they reopened no contact. The houses are huge and cost big money to run and they need those dues.PNM’s will have more options.

Nationals still isn’t gonna compromise on a sub 3.0 GPA. Not mine, at least. Houses were planned and (mostly) built when total was around 350 so we still have a little wiggle room. I don’t think nationals ever expected us to stay at 450 forever anyway.

If any houses are going to be struggling with numbers I’d think it would be houses with lots of OOS for obvious tuition related issues. I’d be surprised if top houses saw a significant number of members not returning, probably won’t be too much easier to get a bid there.

It is interesting though to think about what will happen if rush is on as usual and one or more houses don’t have enough actives to rush. Besides girls just not coming back there will probably be others who need to be excused if they are high risk due to health issues.

Except that that UA is now 60% OOS. We saw what happened with KD last year. Tried to keep it to instate and couldn’t fill their pledge class. OOS tuition and dues are a factor for many.

National's isn't compromising anything. Nationals stated minimum gpa is much lower than the chapters gpa minimum at most of our UA sororities. That's why greek chic consistently lists lower grades than what the chapters will actually say is needed. Even if a house can run with 100 less members, there are many girls whose parents lost jobs recently. Many are unemployed. People are trying to figure out how to pay bills and even how to pay just for tuition, let alone sorority bills for 6k+. This is especially true if they try to make it all virtual. Yes, pnm's will have more options.
