Stupid question about grades

by:

I keep seeing that 3.0 GPA is the unofficial cutoff. Is this your high school Weighted or UN-Weighted GPA? I’ve taken all honors or AP classes but my unweighted is like 2.8 but my weighted average is 3.6. Does Alabama merit scholarships looked at weighted GPA? I’m super worried

Honestly a 2.8 in AP and honors classes translates to a 2.8 in college level classes so you seem like a grade risk. Hopefully your ACT or SAT show that you are college ready.

25 ACT. You really didn’t answer my questions. Are sororities looking at weighted or unweighted GPA during recruitment?

I would use your unweighted. I believe that was the only one I submitted. If they knew you unweighted was a below a 3.0 I would be worried tbh so don’t but it if you don’t have to

They look at whatever you and your school send them. My schools provides both weighted and unweighted, so I put both on my resume. Even if you only put your weighted, they will see your unweighted on your transcript that your school sends in

Give your weighted. Panhellenic does NOT get your transcript, you submit your transcript to the university, they recalculate your gpa according to their weighted scale, and that is what’s given to Panhellenic so all pnms have the same scale gpa on Panhellenic’s end. short answer being, only give your weighted because whatever the university calculates for your weighted gpa will be better than your unweighted and that’s the only gpa sororities really care about/need, but if they saw your unweighted they would be worried.

If you give us your unweighted and weighted my sorority and probably most will use the lower of the 2 so unless you want to be dropped by everything I would not send in your lower one
