What’s the sophomore quota
by: SophomoreI heard houses have a sophomore quota. What is it for each house?
#4 by: quota
It's a quota for upperclassmen separate from the regular quota. It doesn't count against the regular quota so upperclassmen have a better chance of getting a bid. Panhellenic sets quota numbers, which are basically the same for all houses, but houses don't have to use a certain number of the UC quota. So the number of sophmores pledging can be a few to a lot more depending on the house. Houses that have membership slots they need to fill are allowed to add to quota with quota additions, so their pledge classes will be larger with more freshmen and upperclassmen.

I’m in old row and mine was 2-3. Some houses with less retention might take a bunch more. I will say though, it’s not super hard for a sophomore to get a bid within sophomore quota. Most of the more selective sororities only have one or two girls already picked out, so unknown girls can def slip in. You shouldn’t worry about competing with the freshman and just follow your gut!
