Grades ???????????

by: Question

Can someone spill the tea on grade cuts and how it affects your recruitment at least up until sisterhood . Maybe in blocks? 3.5 and up, 3.2-3.4, 3.0-3.2, below a 3.0.

This is actually addressed either on the pan website or last year’s Greek chic, I can’t remember. But it’s actual data from past recruitments.

Thanks. I was hoping for some personal experiences as well as the Panhellenic info.

3.5+ : you’re fine for any house
3.4-3.2 : a couple cuts probably from high gpa old row sororities but you still should have a good rush
3.2-3.0: depends on who you are and your résumé but expect around half of the houses cut you
3:0 and below: expect large cuts, some girls still can get their top houses but most have to settle with a mid or low tier house. Some even have to drop from rush.

How come some girls with 4.0s have bad rushes then?

Most likely looks and social awkwardness, TBH. Grades are only part of what you need to succeed.

There are some girls that look amazing on their recs and resume, especially high GPA’s. Then, you meet them and they are either awkward or extremely over confident that it’s uncomfortable. If you have a high GPA, props to you. But, work on great social skills, too.

Unfortunately below average looks can be as bad as a grade or rep risk, particularly if you don’t have connections. That’s why you’ll see a lot of the girls who are killing it in bottom houses and winning awards, holding leadership positions, etc are either not the cutest or they’re not thin. It’s a shame but it is what it is.

You can have a 4.0 and be dropped from every house.@hi is just talking about gpa typically if you have above a 3.5 you’ll pass the gpa requirement for every house. You can still get dropped for qr or not being what they want in a sister.
