by: roll tide !!

i have a 2.8 involved in sports, in many curricular activities, have the looks and very outgoing. is there a chance i’d get dropped from every house? or will i just have a limited few to pick from.. please be honest:)) i’m fine with having a limited amount but i just don’t want to get dropped from ALL houses.. do you think that would happen bc of my 2.8 gpa? thank you!!

I rushed with a 3.0 and got a house - you’ll get houses back, they just probably won’t be the ones you want and with a GPA below 3.0 you’ll probably get less than five back after first round, as it’s the first thing most houses will cut you for.

What Srat Girl said, above. She's right. You MIGHT get some invitations back...maybe you're good in sports and that house wants to do better in intramurals.
Be realistic - your choices will be limited....in fact, with a 2.8, you may well get no invitations back. While a 3.0 may be the recommended floor, the truth is most groups have individual floors that are way above that - 3.2 to 3.8, even.
But there are LOTS of other groups to get involved in. Plus you may do much better in college and could go through as a sophomore. Generally the grade floors for sophomores is a little lower than 3.0, because you'll have a proven college record by then.

I rushed last year with a lower gpa. You also have a lot of qualities I had going into rush too. I was far OOS so low gpa and that I was dropped by all old row except two houses. I had a pretty full card the whole rush experience. I would suggest new row will most likely be nicer on the lower gpa. But I ended up in my top house and I love it. So I think you should have some to choose from throughout the process.
