importance of grades in rush
by: jennahow important ARE grades in bama sorority rush? I had a rough go in high school w grades and academics and have a 2.9 almost 3.0. this scares me. are the grades THAT important? I know some houses drop based on grades but I still want to have options as I complete the process and it worries me that there’s nothing i can do to raise my GPA at this point...which houses are not selective/are selective when it comes to grades?

To be blunt, your grades will mean some chapters are required to drop you, and will work against you pretty much everywhere else. If you think you can do better in your first year of college and get into the 3.3 and above range you'll have a lot more choices, and if you take this route you should aim even higher. If you're worried about getting good grades your first year then go ahead and try recruitment but be prepared to have limited options.
