question about being a multiple legacy
by: LegacyI'm a legacy to a couple of houses. Does Alabama take legacies seriously or no? I was told that some schools discourage putting my legacy status on rec letters so chapters won't think I would not be interested in them. What should I do?

There are so many legacies coming through these days that houses could fill a whole pledge class and then some with just legacies. So it really doesn't mean as much as it used to. It matters a lot if a legacy house takes you to pref; if you list them first you will get that bid at most sororities. Do make sure that your legacy houses know that you are coming through by having your relatives notify them by whatever way their nationals prescribe, and make sure that it's on your rec for your legacy houses. You can leave it off your other recs and registration form. There is no need for the other houses to know your legacy status somewhere else.

You CAN put your legacy on your registration form. The info is revealed only to the legacy house, not the other houses. Generally, though, they find out thorough recs.
Just don't think that your legacy house is a lock. It's only a lock if you're sitting in that house on pref night.
