adpi’s house mom’s awful remarks

by: Lol

Y’all do know that ADPI’s house mom refers to their staff as “the help”, right?

thankfully, for society’s sake, we have recognized such behavior is abhorrently wrong, out of touch, and ignorant. Why pledge a sorority that prides themselves on hate?

Pledge DG or Theta, pretty close and still, far less ignorant

Since when does ‘the help’ mean colored folk?

This poster is no SJW, just someone looking for an excuse to bash ADPi. The help means the hired help. The people who are hired to come in and do the cleaning, maintenance, and food service. There is no judgement or looking down on people who are just trying to earn their paychecks from hourly-rate jobs, or on the term 'the help.' This type of job is necessary to the running of a house and that's why so many people get paid to do it. Stop trying to shame for a term that doesn't mean anything bad.

If you read the book, “The Help” had more intelligence and better values than those they served.

They should take it as a compliment.

A house mom is an employee. She is not a member of the sorority. House moms are hard to come by, and it is a difficult job to even find and keep one. What would you suggest she call them? House Boys? House Gents? Crew? Staff?

Oh. BTW, "House Mom" is also considered insulting. We both did it. It's just slang, but not meant to be derogatory; but it could be to someone who directs budgets, maintenance, food, safety and compliance and more. The more respectful and formal title for her would be House Director.

If this post is referring to the book/movie, those characters were former Chi Omega's from Ole Miss.

Back in the day we just called her ‘Mammy’ and she seemed ok with it. As a matter of fact, Daddy took Mammy on the family vacation with us so Mom wouldn’t have to cook or clean. He even gave her an afternoon off so she could go to the ni&@er beach.

This might be the dumbest attempt I've ever seen to make a house look bad

yeah and then they got rid of that house mom because she was saying those things. and the woman wasn't even an ADPI and the girls in the house don't pick the house mom anyway
