should i be getting these things
by: ..So I’m a pnm from OOS but it’s a neighboring state to Alabama so not to far. I’m a senior and some of my friends or other girls who are also going to UA have gotten lots of followers from different sororities, as well as even getting texts to their phones. Should I be worried about not getting these? I am a legacy to XO and even they have not followed or texted me.

Do you have Alabama 2024 in your insta bio? It can help to have early exposure but if not it’s not a deal breaker. If you have a good GPA (above a 3.0) , are at least average looking ,understand basic social norms , and maximize your options you will be running home to some house on Bid Day.

XO has a ton of legacies going through every year, so I don’t think it helps you as much at that house as it does at others. You and your friends are not al going to get bids to the same house, so don’t get your hopes up. I’m not trying to be mean, I just want your expectations to be in line with reality.

Do they have good national policies regarding legacies? For instance, Pi Phi is required to put all legacies that attend pref at the top of their bid list. Chi O doesn’t have that policy so many legacies take them to pref and could be cut after pref, even though they are legacies.

Chi O has that legacy policy too. If you make it to pref as a legacy you are guaranteed a bid. But legacy is only mother or sister. I think all houses have that policy.

Yes, if you make it to pref you should get a bid, if you rank them first. Sororities must make that decision about you early on and not carry you without intending to bid, so legacy cuts happen as early as possible in the process so as to not lead anyone on.

I know for a fact that is not true. I know several Chi O legacies that put them first and don’t get a bid. It’s simply not true or Alabama chapter doesn’t follow the national rules.

Try to find girls in AXO, AGD, Tri Delt. They are super similar but better than chi o in my opinion

She is out of state; sounds like a neighbor state. It’s not abnormal to not get texts yet. Like ^^ said, how can they find your cell number unless it was given to the sorority or maybe in your bio part??? Make everything where all the sororities can find you. Instagram especially. Keep it classy. Keep an open mind, because your friend group will probably go different places.

I don’t but none of those girls do either... I just don’t want to let down my Mom by not getting XO an I want to be with my friends
