by: Hey you guysHave heard lots of mixed opinions. They were the bottom house before DG came on board but seem to be top of bottom tier now. Share your thoughts.

They've made an amazing turnaround. Even after RFM was introduced, they used to miss quota by a lot and then lose a big chunk of the pledges they did manage to get before initiation. They actually came really close to being closed for numbers by their national.
Sadly, the Machine had a lot to do with keeping them at the bottom.

According to the spring grade report 70% of them had a 3.0 or above so I kinda think the fact that you’ve only met girls from the 30% says more about you lol
They do need to put more emphasis on grades if they want to move up though.

I agree that grades are their downfall. If they want to move up they need to concentrate on academics.

I think that used to be true, but now they are pretty well respected and especially the oos girls love Gamma Phi. There are quite a few houses that pnms drop more than Gamma Phi.

People con just say anything on here... Like saying GPB took girls dropped by APhi and ADPi.... as if Aphi doesn't have grade issues or ADPi doesn't struggle with retention. Gphi is every bit as good as either of those houses. I am not a GPB, but feel they recruit just as well as half the houses on the row.

Nothing against gphi but this isn’t true and it’s pretty clear if you look at active membership numbers. They’re the third smallest house by # of active members (with 80 fewer members than the largest, not including SK). Considering they take larger than average pledge classes every year they are actually doing pretty badly in terms of retention.
In general houses that are dominated by OOS students have retention issues, not a bad thing just a fact.

Not a GPhi either but I remember that there was a post about retention about a year ago and GPhi was in the top five or so. I don't know where to look it up but I do remember it because I was surprised. But the girls I know in that house seem very happy and I hate to see them lied about.

After this last recruitment I'd put them towards the top of the mid tier. They cut a lot of girls that ended up in some of the houses that rank higher at least on greek rank if not really on the row.
