Please tell me where I can find the national news coverage of this! That's awesome.

I have no problem believing this, but honestly it's nowhere but anonymous sites where anyone can say anything, and random places on the internet. I've been talking with my roommate about it and I would love to be able to show her a real source. Drop some links to National coverage so I can show her.

Come on OP, I need to know where I can find this on the national news so I can show my friends. They think the Instagram is stupid, and nothing on it isn't anything you'd find at any sorority, and the rest is exaggerated or made up. I'd really like to offer them proof.

You obviously can’t attach links in greekrank but a quick google search for “Alpha phi Michigan rush chair scandal” will bring up several articles.

I personally wouldn’t call it national news, but the article in the University of Michigan newspaper details how this whole thing originally was brought to light. Former Michigan alpha phi rush chair created an entire website about it. “Unnamed” sorority but of course everyone knew who she was talking about.

Ok now lied trying to make this into a bigger scandal than it is. There is not one single "National News" source that reported on it because they care about as much as the rest of us. Once again saying it and hoping people will believe it's true.

I don’t think KD ever had their executive offices interfere with membership selection based solely on appearance and race.

I know I’m pretty sure either everyone here is an alpha phi or an extremely immature member of our Greek community. Which is why they call anyone who thinks this is as serious as it is “grandma” or someone’s mom.

Have you ever asked any of the Alpha Phi at Bama if they have ever been told to recruit based solely on looks by their national office? I'm going to say the answer is probably no, they haven't been. But isn't more fun to pretend they have and drag them through the dirt. That's supportive of women isn't it? Because that seems to be what you're all about, right?I'm going to bet you have spent many exhausting hours investigating this before you came on here to show your love.

Have you even looked at the instagram page or the document she is referring to? All heresay and gossip. There is no evidence this is a "national scandal". Please quit repeating stuff without evidence. These people are trying to claim the chapters make up a pnm list and the alums switch it...like you wouldn't notice that as an active. This is just another chance to hate on APhi. It is ridiculous.

how would you notice if the bid list was changed? chapters either rank girls via a written system or a verbal one (most likely a combo). if your chapter ranks via writing then you have no idea how pnms are getting ranked, and if it’s verbal you have some idea but (unless you’re vp membership/chapter pres/something like that) you never see the ranking. if a girl your actives loved doesn’t come back, you just assume she cut you.

the girl at umich who initially wrote about this story said that actives started figuring out what was going on when there was a girl who was friends with a bunch of girls in their chapter trying to rush for only that chapter. the reason they figured it out was because the girls 100% knew she wouldn’t cut them, and asked her. otherwise you wouldn’t know.

Yeah and you know what that’s wrong too. Of course there are girls who are pretty as well as smart, good leaders, athletic, accomplished, whatever...The issue here is that their national leader ship tells the permit directors who to put on the list and who not to put on the lists Based on how they look.
