Look straight out of the south? No disrespect but wth does that mean? We can spot a Yankee a mile away. I def wouldn’t come to Alabama with that mindset. You are from the south or you’re not. Your family is from the south, or they are not. If you come in acting like you are one of us, then many won’t like it. If you come in acknowledging you are who you are, and are happy with that, then you will be much more likely to fit in here. Also, don’t come down here and complain or criticize how we do things. Accept and respect our way of life and TRADITION and you will find friends. To sum it up, be just be yourself! Be proud of who you are/where you’re from. There are people who rush from outside of the south and they join great sororities. The old row, very southern sororities will be more difficult to join, but that doesn’t mean they are off limits. First Circle sororities are within Old Row - DDD, KD, and AGD. They will be super hard to join, but again not impossible. UA has the largest rush in the country, all the houses have great members and all offer something unique and wonderful to its members. You want to join the house you fit in the best at. The rush process it is pretty effective and girls really do end up where they are meant to be. If you go through rush and maximize all your options each round, then you will get a bid.
