Houses have numbers to maintain. Members drop and those spaces need to be filled. It’s a fact of life.

It says a lot if they are bringing in a lot of girls but those lower numbers mean nothing especially 1. To COB 1 girl makes no sense. I would think it is someone who had to leave recruitment for personal or medical reasons or to bring in a friend or roommate. We lost a girl who had to leave first semester due to a family death at home in October. Our house chose to make her wait until fall again to not do a COB but it makes no sense. Same goes for Zeta at 6. That looks like a few roommates or girls who dropped out of formal because they fell through the cracks. Now Alpha Phi is very telling. A mix of trying to build some type of sisterhood and also taking girls who could not make it through formal likely because of grades.

These houses have more oos girls which is the reason they have more drops. It is very expensive to attend Bama from oos. In state girls act like they are the wealthiest most elite girls around. However, it costs the oos girl 35,000 to be here not including sorority dues. That can be hard to maintain and sometimes people want to be here for two years and then maybe go home for the last two. You don’t know what the reasons are. I AM SO THANKFUL for COB because it makes a place for awesome girls in these houses.

They cleaned house and got rid of a lot of girls who weren't paying dues and with questionable reputations. In fact, they cut their numbers in half which explains why they rush so many girls and did cob. They are rebuilding your house nicely and you are spreading gossip that is very slanted and doesn't represent the truth. Do you by chance while at work for Fox network?

Its great that Alpha Phi cleaned house and is rebuilding.

But, unfortunately, we all know the truth: a sorority that replaced half of its entire membership due to quality issues is going to go through a period of instability for several years as they try to replace their old culture with a new one. It is not realistic to believe the new half of their members pulled in last year were able to magically fixed everything in a year. (Otherwise, by that logic, SK would be all done catching up after this year.)
We all realize it is going to take longer than that to rebuild.

While Alpha Phi wishes to maintain their old middle tier position in the ranks, everyone knows other houses that have not had this rebuilding issue, like DG, Theta, AOPi, ADPi, Gphi, or DZ are stronger right now, and deserve to be ranked higher.

Nothing against Alpha Phi, and I wish them well in their rebuilding, just saying it is very unfair to these other houses, especially the ones with higher grades and reputations for good involvement on campus, to say Alpha Phi is better than them right now.

Who is doing COB this semester?

Oh yes, it needed to be said. That's why you wrote a four paragraph essay about it on Greek rank as if you were dispensing the wisdom of the ages. Alpha Phi has had its issues it still continues to be more desirable among pnm's than quite of the few houses that you listen and honestly, I don't really think you wish them well. I doubt you really care. I wonder how often you talk supportively about them with your sisters. Unless you're an Alum which I suspect anyway

Why do people obsess over this?

Alpha Phi is rebuilding. We get it. We don't need 50 zillion posts to prove the point. You don't like them, so you didn't join that house. Since they're rebuilding- and to listen to the talk on this site- a dumpster fire- your house shouldn't worry about competition from them. So why do you care? Is it because they're doing better than you expected...and you're feeling threatened? Why else would you take the time out of your life, on a holiday weekend no less, to post about something that happened months ago? Some axe to grind somewhere. Maybe they dropped you, idk. Let them rebuild and just mind your own business.
