Go with YOUR gut. No one here can tell you which is better for you. Don't listen to what anyone says or you'll end up being a sorority you hate

It's really up to you to make your experience fantastic. Whichever one you get, throw yourself into it and give your all.

Both are good, where do you fit?

I feel like I can be more of an asset to DG. I think if girls want to help make a positive mark that DG is where I can do it. Kind of a rising tide instead of a sinking ship?

That's certainly an interesting metaphor! I'm sure you'd be a great addition to either house:)

That makes no sense whatsoever. you obviously got dropped and/or feel threatened by DG on campus. Both DG and AGD are great and have different things to bring to the table.

I agree. I like the girls in DG. I am not threatened by, nor was I dropped from, DG. I wish them well. But...they are brand new and don't have a track record. How can that be a negative statement? It is the truth. AGD has been on campus for a long while, DG has not. You know what you get with AGD, not as much with DG. My mom joined an almost brand new sorority at her school because she wanted to be part of something new and help it grow. That is a good thing if you are confident and energetic. But the DG patrol on here needs to lighten up. Calling people losers and saying they "must have been dropped" is immature and embarrassing. So let her choose between an established sorority or one that is brand new....but don't jump on someone for basically pointing out a truth. Just stop it. DG will be great, I am sure...but they aren't anywhere near the top yet.

Can be a good thing...or a bad thing.
For a new chapter, you get to be a part establishing the track record.
Make it a good one!

Regardless, you'll spend your 4 years with the girls in the house NOW...not the ones that were there 50 years ago. So if you love the girls and feel your best fit is there - wherever THERE is - go with it.

I am the one who posted above you. I completely agree with what you say. A track record isn't necessarily a good thing and, as I mentioned, my mom joined a new sorority and love helped defining its character on campus. But calling people out for a simple comment is terribly defensive and DG needs to stop that. They are doing fine without running interference on Greek Rank. I love my DG friends and I think they are on the right track. But, as of this moment, they aren't top tier. Neither is my sorority and I love it! They just need to chill a bit.
