You might not believe it if only one source is reporting it. But there have been many reports from actual Alpha Phis in different parts of the country saying the same thing. At some point you just know it's true.

It was also just really obvious what was going on if you paid any attention to Alpha Phi over the years. Ten years ago they had a bunch of chapters in the Midwest and South that were lower or mid-lower tier, and then at the same time all of them started taking the same kind of girl (fake blonde, stereotypically “hot” partiers). It was clear there were some kind of directions coming down from nationals. Nobody had any proof until that PDF though.

Even at non-party schools/low greek involvement schools (Yale, Georgia Tech, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Wash U, Case Western) they are still the chapters most focused on looks and having the hottest girls for that campus. My grandbig was a traveling consultant after she graduated and has some STORIES.

My uncle went OOS to another big uni and said they called alpha phi there “all for free”.

It depends on who is doing the rankings you see. If it is guys and alums, you'll see one ranking. If actual actives do it, you'll get another ranking. Guys always rank the beauties higher and alums always rank their house higher no matter what. So what you're seeing isn't necessarily that they're the house most pnms want, you're seeing that most guys think they're the prettiest.

There are no chapters where Alpha Phi has the worst returns of all sororities - unless they are new on campus - like UF. Even in that case they sometimes are not the "bottom" house after their 1st formal recruitment. Usually after the house is built they jump up to somewhere in the middle rankings.

The less prominent national sororities know this and those alums bash Alpha Phi non-stop on this site.

Alpha Phi offers their collegiate members new houses, scholarships, leadership training, heart philanthropy support, widespread alum support. Not just Alpha Phi - other strong nationals offer these same things. KKG, KAT, PiPhi, ChiO, and a few more.

Alpha Phi is a weak national organization who tries to social climb. They have the lowest GPA on every campus they are on. They make questionable recruitment videos, have questionable recruitment practices. Their national is about to implode, they are in the midst of shady elections and appointments on a national level. It's a hot mess.

Not top tier at a lot of places: UGA, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Cornell, MIT, etc

At one of the universities in my state A Phi was closed because they were poor recruiters.

Alpha Phi does not rank in the top at most southern schools but it does rank tops at U of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, some others.

Hopefully the southern sororities will keep their "exclusive" attitude. lol Hold onto that.

True story - I am in one of the following traditionally strong nationals: Theta, Kappa, Alpha Phi, Pi Phi. In the deep south a woman asked me what sorority I was in. She offered that she was a Phi Mu and when I told her which one I was in - she was speechless (with horror) and the conversation was over. I was thinking to myself...Phi Mu...ummm....ok...I have vaguely heard of that one. lol
