old row is just a name not a rank
by: Not Amy's MomRecruitment has really shown that the mystique of Old Row sororities at Alabama are no longer what it use to be. This year, more than any other has shown that the OOS girls are now steering the ship. The quality is moving away from Old Row/In state and shifting elsewhere.

Yes. OOS don't focus and worry about old traditions and the old way of associating status with old row- and they simply laugh when it's explained to them. They will define things from here on out. They are more used to being in diverse populations and can navigate through it easier and relate to a wider variety of personalities. Look for some of these up and coming sororities to get even better. It's probably for the best for the greek system here but a hard wake up call to certain alums and actives. It will be ok- things are just changing like it has everywhere way before this

With almost 70% of incoming classes now coming from out of state, PNMs have no interest in staying and living in Alabama after graduation. So, the Old Row hometown social circle attraction doesn't appeal to them. They can care less that some sorority alumni group controls some country club in some Alabama town. You go to places like New York and you will find it definitely not any of the so-called Old Row sororities that have the biggest alumni clubs/associations it is the big new row sororities that dominate the landscape.

Yes, please put all your effort and energy away from OR. Please keep telling yourself that OR has no power or prestige and maybe this will get you to stop harassing us. I hope you truly no longer think OR matters so then maybe all you randos will stop obsessing over us. So yes, we don’t matter so you don’t need to worry and obsess about us ever again!!!!

100% true.
And the "old row" alums know this. That is why they try to crush the big nationals on this site. Unrelenting because - as adults - they actually brag about which Alabama strong sorority they were in to other adults. lol
