It means they had a lot of girls at their pref parties that put them second. But those girls who put other houses as their first choice were too far down the bid list at those houses. So the computer looks at which house had those girls ranked higher. It basically means Tri Delt took girls that the other houses didn’t want so they were quota additions. Being too much over quota is bad and shows your house wasn’t that desirable.

No - that’s not the way it works. If the PNM was not high enough on either of their pref houses’ list to make the bid list, the computer then takes into account the overall size of the chapter to see which of the houses has more room for the addition. DDD’s overall number was probably slightly lower, so that’s why they got more “additions.” Don’t see how having more girls that want you than you have room for on your first bid list could be a bad thing.

The program knows when it has evened up the houses and then assigns girls (too far down on both lists) randomly to one house then the other, alternating
