Looks like xo made a move back to relevance. Good for them. AGD also. Most old row gains for those two came at KD and KKG expense.

Question is whether agd and xo are doubling down on in state, rather than opening more to oos (not counting Mississippi). Thoughts? Are they (and kkg, kd) going to continue to not focus on top oos, leaving those to axo, pm, ddd and (dare i say it?) zta?

Good for XO and AGD.
All of the old row houses are majority (or near majority) OOS at this point. That said, XO and AGD clearly focused on trying to bring in girls from in-state and were not treating every PNM on a level competition. These are still very much “connections” houses. Same for KD and to a lesser degree KKG. These are all still bringing in and then favoring the in-state girls.
IMHO only DDD, AXO and PM tried hard this year to give every PNM, no matter where from, an equal and honest evaluation. Each had very big numbers with OOS and I think it is a reason why those three houses have top status. If ZTA keeps their girls over the long haul and if the grades come through like they are probably hoping (they had big grade cuts this recruitment), they can start to claim that status too.
Moral of the story, just beating KD and KKG for Mobile and MB girls is not going to be enuf for XO and AGD to get back to the top. All of KD, KKG, Xo and AGD better get on the OOS bandwagon, take “surprise” girls that do not hav connections but are great, or they will continue to fall into irrelevance for 2/3 of the PNMs that come from OOS each year.

Oml I’m cracking up. Literally. No one cares about Alabama girls except Alabama girls. I have to laugh at those that want to carry on the north and south debate. There’s more oos students and hate to break it to you but they are fueling the school. So you guys have fun with that.

Every town/state has some loosely understood “List “ of places that old money, influencers, socially active, wealthy, and social climbers ( with a lot more of the latter than the former ) want to be.
The list includes the obvious and the obscure, from schools to churches, and country clubs to where you get your hair done, and who does your taxes.
Some Greek organizations are on this “list ”, not surprising.
To the insiders and those who observe and aspire, it is just taken for granted this is where one MUST be. And within the bubble of this existence, these people take great pride in their association.
These things do change over time however. Take your local Episcopal Church for example. Yes, a few old school families are still attending, but not the epitome of insiders it used to be for sure.
Time will tell KD and Kappa. But I think attendance is trending down. \n\n\n\n\n
