rushing as a sophomore

by: Rtr

Do all sororities have to take a certain amount of sophomore pnms? I’m thinking about rushing next year as a sophomore because I’ll be transferring over.

There is upper class quota that sets a limit but not a flood

No house HAS to take a certain amount of upperclassmen. Quota is the limit, meaning can't take more than, which is decided after pref just like freshman quota. But houses don't really care about filling upperclassman quota like they do freshman quota, so they will take a pass on any girl they don't love.

I rushed as a sophomore and I really felt like it limited my options. Although I LOVED the house I pledged (and stayed the rest of my college career) I feel like I would have had a better shot as a freshman. The post by “quota” is right, they don’t have to take a certain amount and sororities will prioritize freshman over sophomores. But definitely rush, it made the rest of my experience so much fun and I gained friendships that I’ll have forever.
