KD needs to improve their recruitment of OOS and the growing areas of Alabama, such as the 289 corridor schools in Birmingham and Madison-Decatur areas. Their traditional feeder areas are not growing or sending their best daughters to Bama. Times have changed for them and they were caught flat footed this year.

I don’t think AXO, PM and XO cared about MB and Mobile and that’s why they have amazing PCs. Kappa, KD and DDD have cute girls but they care too much about certain hometowns and it didn’t work for them this year.

Good point. They usually don’t give in state any special status. Their recruitment teams give every pnm an equal chance. It works for them

I think almost every sorority did well this year. I think AXO, PM, XO, and DDD did an awesome job getting really well rounded OOS girls. I think ZTA got some amazing OOS girls that a lot of OR houses really wanted. KKG and KD really tried to pull some of those top OOS girls but lost a number of them to AXO, PM, and DDD. Really shocked that DDD seems to really be going for a large number of OOS girls these past few years, guess they finally got in on what PM and AXO have been doing for years. DG, Theta, and AOII also pulled off great PCs this year. Overall, everyone did well but some did a little bit better than others just like it is every year.

A house could get all of top Mobile and MB girls and it still wouldn’t be enough to top the classes Phi Mu and XO pulled in this year, followed closely by AXO. Major congrats to AGD for snagging a bunch of KKG and KD’s top PNMs too.
The top girls wanted the houses that focus on grades and it shows.

Alpha Phi and Zeta got the best looking new members. Alpha Phi got at least to Alabama cheerleaders.
The truth of the situation is that the old row houses are hugely influenced by their alums. Zeta is among the top now. (and I am NOT a Zeta.)
Alpha Phi dominates with OOS because they are so strong nationally.
Kappa will rebound. Theta did well. Pi Phi - not so sure.

I think if zeta gets their grades up more people would consider them top. They’d probably be top at most non-SEC schools, but they’re just not an “Alabama top” type house currently

Zeta is top by any measure.
Sororities are a social group. Yes - academics are stressed. Yes - philanthropy is stressed.
But the bottom line - no one joins to help them get a higher gpa. People join to add to their overall college experience.
So - guess what? Zeta competes with Phi Mu, Kappa, AXO for the top women in recruitment. Especially if the pnm is from Florida. Other parts of the country - not so much.
Give it up old row. There are not two Greek rows at bama. There is one and new row houses are in the top and top-middle now.

What’s funny this year is that the old row moms hate that AXO and PM are considered old row even though they are not “first circle” like kd ddd and kappa. They lament that AXO, pm, and to some degree xo deign to think they are on the same level. What happened for AXO and pm is that they opene to OOS several years ago. From the start of the OOS growth. They hit the top on that strategy. Now zeta kills it along with AXO and pmu, leaving kd and others like AGD in the dust.
Changing the guard is tough at Bama, but maybe it is time to recognize that kd is not queen and kappa tridelta AGD are not her court.
AXO, PM, XO and ZTA (yes) are the top houses in this generation.

Completely disagree about GPA importance. You cannot be a top house here and be 16th on the grade report. You’re missing a whole 1/3 of what sororities are about. Agree with first comment that if zeta steps it up they will be top. I’ll be a little more specific and say if they reach a 3.5 average.

Fair enough. I hear this kc for them has higher grades and that the bad grade risks with looks ended up dz, aphi, gphi and... kappa.

ZTA had a much higher GPA cut off this year- so they will pull their overall up with this pledge class and most likely continue on that path. They got a lot of academically strong OOS girls that OR tossed aside because OOS. They will decline if they let alums run the show. PM and AXO were ok but nothing compared to ZTA. Phi Mu and DZ did well and Theta. Most of the other ones kept the status quo which maybe they are happy about.

With what happened this year, it is definitely safe to say that times have changed and there is a changing of the guard. The “old” versus “new” row distinction is broken completely. ZTA, PBP, ADPi all did better than several old row houses. The chapters that did the best, did not “favor” any particular area and probably tried to avoid too many from any single area. The composition of the pnm pool is dramatically different than just six years ago. It is smarter, more social, and more insta-savvy and well put together. The traditional in-state favored children are not standing out and also have too many issues with gossip on their reputations.

AP did well
XO up again after dismal pledge class last year
KD ugh. So boring and predictable

Could not believe the parity this year. Everyone's lawn looked so similar and happy! Some houses certainly pulled in some great PCs. Kudos to XO, DDD, Theta for doing so well this year. Glad SK took in good girls too.
Overall, looks like PNMs realized they can have a fantastic experience regardless of house.

How is anybody ranking anything? What criteria? No one has the complete resumes of all new members to make a determination and rank pledge classes.
About the only thing you can rank is how much chest bouncing was happening as they ran to the house or was it a cattle stampede?
