Chi o drops everyone who they think has a slight chance of pledging somewhere else instead of competing for them so they can brag about their return rates. I wouldn’t take it personally. They aren’t the only sorority with high return rates.

Excellent point. First we can only guess about return rates. Second is that a focus on return rates is harmful because it makes the houses focus on avoiding risk. The avoidance of risk means the more high profile houses tend to go after the girls they know already. This disadvantages those without connections with actives. It becomes a spiral. Chi O and some others are caught in this cycle. Chapter rush advisors don’t help. Think back to the old race scandals and XO, AGD.

The good out of it has been that all houses end up with lots of great girls each year. The quality gets spread around. While there may still be some strata, the differences are compressing. Every pnm has good options if they persist.

Chi O has one of the top return rates during rush along with AXO, Kappa, KD, and Tri Delt so they are required BY PANHELLENIC to drop a ton of girls. It is one of the hardest decisions especially when there are SO MANY amazing PNMs. Don’t take it personally a lot of the times it has to do with grades. Don’t dwell on their decision and just keep up the great work at the other houses! You’ll find your forever home!
