question about quota
by: DDEveryone is saying Kappa has to take more girls than PM, KD, XO and DDD because they couldn’t fill their class last year. Is this true? Do they get more spots?
#11by: Quota
Quota is different for each chapter, there is no defined limit across all the sororities. How many returning members plays a big part in how many bids they can give out to reach the accepted overall chapter size. If a chapter has high retention and members stay active with the chapter throughout their time at Bama, they may have less slots available for PNMs as opposed to a sorority that experiences high burn out of the older members who go inactive or graduate early.
#12by: You can tell
Quota additions are driven by size of house and retention rates. Grade reports will tell you who may tske quota additions. For example, Theta has taken quota additions for several years (certainly having an old house might have push them to cut gently) but given their larger size and ok retention rate according to last years report, their need for additions looks to be down. That was a positive example, but the report clearly shows some less positive situations, indicating who will go lighter on the cuts this year.

So go look at the grade reports that show chapter totals. Those below the norm will take bigger pledge classes this year
