snap bid/fall cob
by: PNMDoes anyone know how to get a snap bid? and If you are rushing this Fall can you still do Fall COB if you decide that you do not want to go to bid day?

Snaps - Snap bids are issued after pref but before bid day by houses that did not make quota. There are very, very few of these and they would go to pnm's who dropped out of recruitment or who were dropped late in the process by the house issuing the snap. Pnm's are contacted for a snap bid before bids are opened on bid day, and if accepted the pnm goes to bid day with everyone else. If you were dropped right after IWT or dropped yourself out early then you have no chance of a snap bid. If you dropped out because you didn't like your remaining houses, you are not going to do any better with a snap; the snap would come from one of those houses, not a 'better' house. Don't count on a snap bid from any house.
COB - No, you cannot do COB if you decide not to accept your bid. The card you sign after pref is a binding agreement, stating that you will accept the bid you are offered. If you don't accept the bid, or you do accept it and then drop out sometime before initiation, you are NOT eligible for COB that year. You must wait again for fall recruitment.
