3.47 gpa will be the cutoff
by: sorority FaxThis just came in: The pool of ladies gets stronger every year. Anything below a 3.47 means the PNM will be cut before bid day, even for the lower tier houses. Feels bad but those of you whom it affects should have studied more in high school.

The grade cuts are the most efficient way to manage numbers so pnms should not be offended. It is what it is. The grades houses are nazi about it but keep in mind they make exceptions for certain favored kids, which i think is unfortunate. The exceptions should be on merit not connections. For what it is worth, my old row house, will make exceptions but the process is hard and requires strong in house pressure, which means we have to know you somehow already to push for the exception. The grades is a big point of pride for houses and important to nationals so they are rarely granted except for legacies

FYI: when you get cut because grades take it as a sign that you need to really focus on your school work and join a club.

OOS girls will tell you, they have mid to lower 20s on the ACT but very high GPAs because of grade inflation in their school or they just cheated throughout high school.

While there are a ton of OOR girls with excellent well rounded resumes, there are also a lot of OOR girls who have some degree of wealth and come to Alabama to party. There are obviously in state girls who come here to party too, but we usually know who they are so it’s easy to tell. With OOS girls it’s harder due to lack of connections so GPA is very important.
As to the comment above mine I usually see the opposite, girls from the northeast/west coast with low GPA’s justifying them by saying their private college prep school was just so difficult. Well, sorry, maybe you shouldn’t have been there. You ended up at Alabama either way.
