Most do spring rush. It will give you time to raise your grades and see if you fit in. Gamma phi will have spring rush. If you get your grades up and don't get a bad reputation, rushing as a sophomore might be better.

If you don't like them now then don't waste their time simple as that. I wouldn't rush again though because all sororities know that you rushed before.

I would say give them a chance. If GPhi is the only house she got invites back to, chances are that won't change. I have known several girls who did not get a house they liked, but loved it once they got involved.

To the original poster: Chances are slim of you getting placed through COB. If you think there are things about Gphi you are not fond of, maybe you can help fix them as a sister.

I'm not sure she would fit in with Gamma Phi. They are the sweetest group of girls at Bama and are incredibly proud of the strides they've made. They would be a top tier house anywhere else in the nation and they know it. She sounds like she thinks she's too good for them. I'm sure they'd be gracious to her, but I don't see them thinking she's doing them a favor by agreeing to be a part of their wonderful organization.

I agree she'd be lucky to get a bid from them. I just don't agree that they'd be lucky if she accepted.

Best comment ever. Anyone is lucky to get a bid from any house and the Gamma Phis are no exception. They have some great girls and are a courageous and awesome group of girls.

No one is entitled to a bid from any house. If you get one, you have an opportunity to make some wonderful friends. If you pass it up, you're kind of a loser...
