by: The 251Regardless of what people say or tell you about Greek life here at this university, Old Row sororities and fraternities are the best ones here at UA. They have the best events, the best parties, and the most sought after. Not to mention they get the most Alumi money.

Old row is the best for people who plan on staying in the state after graduation, when they return to their hometowns and start hanging out with their fellow alums. For people whose plan is to go elsewhere or have no plans in joining some country club in Alabama being in an Old Row affiliated Sorority or an Old Row Fraternity doesn't hold as much weight.
Old Row fraternities hold one major combined party a year doesn't mean they have the best events. All Fraternities throw some major parties and have fun events. All the university blvd fraternities and the major houses on Jefferson have full swap schedules.
In regards to money, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Just look at all the new mega Fraternity and Sorority houses that were built by non-old row houses.
In Summary, your post is completely false and based on a delusional opinion.

Seriously, the girls in OR houses are mostly girls from small town Alabama. If you're from OOS, you'll recognize that the OR houses are the ones on the bottom in basically every other state. When you go home, you'll find the alums from houses that are OR in Alabama to be less dynamic and interesting than the girls from most of the NR houses. Not being critical, just an observation by an alum from OOS.

Only Fraternities are Old Row, which are Sigma Nu, Phi Gam, Deke, SAE, Phi Delt and KA. People wrongly identify there are Old Row sororities which are AGD, KD, AXO, DDD, Kappa, Chi O and PM. They get labeled as Old Row because they get invited to the Old Row Fraternity annual party.
Old Row are the Fraternities whose houses have always been on University Blvd and did not move to Jefferson back in the 50's and 60's. Creating the Old Row versus New Row divide.
Sororities actually had a different label in that they were identified as circles, because sorority row was made up of 3 cul-de-sacs in the current sorority house locations with AGD, DDD and KD being called first circle. Though the cul-de-sacs were removed to make room for more houses also back 50-60 years ago.
