I would say Ole Miss... The fact that Theta failed there last year speaks to their sorority culture and how cut-throat it is.

Ole miss is def cut throat but I think the general consensus is that their chapter was on the upswing and would have been fine, theta nationals was just tired of dealing with them. Ole miss panhel asked them to reconsider.

Sorry you have to deal with that. But I was talking about actives instead of PNMs.

I think the answer you are looking for is which state's culture is so ingrained with pledging certain sororities. I am not making a distinction of which state is worse, but clearly there are geographic locations in all southern states where girls are brainwashed into believing they have to pledge a certain sorority or they will be an outcast. Because of that along with quotas it is so competitive to get a bid from certain houses.
A quality pnm will get a bid from a sorority maybe just not from one they have been brainwashed into believing is a top sorority.

Ole Miss and Auburn by far, I have extensive knowledge of both and OOS girls at both better be prepared. Ole Miss is truly ridiculous bc some self- righteous girls only want Chi O, Tri Delt, and KD, when they go through. But DG, Phi Mu, Kappa, ADPi, and Pi Phi, are truly great chapters with great involvements, sisterhoods, and grades! AOPi and Alpha Phi’s retention rates are actually very impressive and is a testament to Greek life dominance at ole miss.

Ole Miss does delayed rush because girls had their hearts set so hard on XO and DDD that they would DROP OUT OF SCHOOL if they didn’t get bids from those houses. Delaying allows the girls to start classes and make friends so if they don’t get into their dream house they’re less likely to bolt.

No, delayed rush ensures that the non-refundable tuition payment deadline has passed so the school doesn't lose the money from the dropouts. It was never about girls having a better rush.

And Mississippi State had a mass exodus a couple of years back when they introduced variable quota for the first time—so many PNMs withdrew/transferred before school started that the school was considering delaying recruitment like Ole Miss.

Theta nationals was truly so heartless to shut down Ole Miss’s chapter. They initiated around 90 something girls and shut down their chapter in December for low pledge numbers. They had no huge scandals and their grades were acceptable. All those girls they initiated in the fall can’t rush again either, how rude was theta nationals not to care about those girls.

They shut down the Clemson chapter around the same time. Maybe Theta decided to focus more resources on other chapters. The new house here didn't come cheap.

Ole miss Theta also raised almost 100k for their philanthropy after they were told they were being shut down. Talk about an F U. The whole thing was super shady.

I won’t even go into how awful it is to let them initiate a whole PC knowing you’re going to shut them down a week later.

The chapter didn't initiate their NMs before national announced the closing—they were offered the choice to be initiated or released.

I agree that Theta national didn't have to shut them down, but to their credit they also didn't put the actives on alumnae status. They're eligible to affiliate with another chapter if they choose to transfer. And I wouldn't blame them if they did.

Ole miss didn’t initiate their new members but Clemson did, and their nationals came to shut them down a week later. Sorry, that was unclear.

They could transfer but tbh that seems like a terrible consolation prize to me. Not sure if my sorority did that to me if I would have any desire to be in it anymore anyway.
