get that wealth thing out of your head. unless you present as somebody that will really struggle financially, nobody cares. if you might struggle, it makes you a risk to drop during the course of your college career, which houses don't like.

Y'all know good and well that some houses value connections above everything else. And "connections" translates to certain wealthy zip codes and social circles. Yes, we all know that's BS at the end of the day, but it's silly and disingenuous to pretend it doesn't matter at all. KD, Kappa, DDD, etc. aren't filling their A-teams with girls from Eastaboga, West Blocton, Tarrant, or Mulga.

I'm from Texas as well. Had absolutely no connections at Alabama but recs for every house. Had what some would consider a perfect Rush in that I had a full card every day with the ones I had ranked on top. I think being OOS with no connections can be an asset in that there are no preconceived notions about you or false rumors. Just go in with a great attitude and presence and you will be great!
