ranks are always changing

I am in state and for as long as I can remember, XO, DDD, KD and KKG (alphabetical order) have been the top four sororities here. Within those 4, different people have different preferences, but they are all pretty equal. Yes, sometimes one of those houses dips for a year or two, but they always rebound. That is the truth and I don’t see it changing any time soon.

You are in State but over 55.

Those sororities were the top in the 1960s and 70s (and before) when everyone was mainly in state and those were the most selective. It was this order then: KD, kappa, tri delt, chi o and alpha gam.

In the 80s, those remained tops but were joined by alpha chi - who got a ton of their legacies and started to build.

90s saw emergence of phi mu and other chapters as more out of state girls came to school.

All along, needless to say, there were great girls in other sororities but these were the most exclusive Doesn’t mean “better”.

BUT, if you were actually in the know, you would know that since that time, KD and Kappa went down in desirability and many chose chi o, alpha gam and alpha chi instead of them. Girls wanted more than status etc.

Today, KD and kappa remain desirable only for certain areas of the state and are not really where the money even is. Many in state girls are actually turned off by superficiality and seek their own experience.

In state girls go where they want... and there are many great options thankfully.

You have no clue that girls choose outside of those all the time and that shows your age.

Nope! Haven’t even hit 30 yet. But I do have siblings who are much older. Yes, Alpha Gam has always been a strong chapter, and I agree that AXO is also strong. Phi Mu too, although it has a different vibe.

But I stand by my statement that XO, DDD, KD and KKG are the overall 4 strongest houses.

KD has never had trouble filling a pledge class

I’m what category would KD, Kappa, and Tri Delt be considered the strongest houses? Genuinely want to know what criteria you think makes them strong? They are fine- but no way strongest in anyone’s opinion but their own.

Kindness- nope, involvement- nope, grades- nope, sisterhood- nope.
