why is dg not higher?

The girls in the house want to be there and are smart and involved. I think they’re ranked lower because they don’t get the top girls (gorgeous, trendy and stylish, etc). They are a great house, but a little socially awkward if that helps explain it. They are solid middle tier just below Zeta, ADPi, and Pi Phi.

The fact that they have so many members shows you that the girls they do pledge really like the house.

I have many friends who are DGs - they are all very pretty and none of them are socially awkward!

What can you do? Anyone can rank as they please, and many want ranks to stay the same. There are lots of unjust ranks Look at Theta. According to the 2018 and 2019 Spring grade reports, they were bigger than five houses both years, took fewer COBs than several other houses both years, had good grades both years, yet are still listed last.

Theta should not be last. DZ should be last.

Bc they are much better on paper

DG has done a great job raising their grades since I’ve been here (2017). They are in top 5ish almost every semester now.

Just because they are the 2nd newest sorority. The other groups have established themselves (for better or worse) already. DG was here but then gone for over 20 years. So they came back in like 2011ish I think (??) And had to start from scratch. What they've done in less than a decade is very impressive but it will take a little longer for people to place them higher. If they stay on this track it will be hard for anyone to say they aren't a very solid mid house.

DG is very strong nationally so it’s a great opportunity for them to get strong legacies who are coming from OOS

Sue Hecht would be a perfect DG.

Not saying anything is wrong with Sue Hecht - kind, sweet, involved, nice, good grades - but this may help explain the ranking

Because the in-state establishment of certain country club ladies will do everything to insure the perception that certain "so called" Old Row sororities will always be considered top tier no matter what.

All these rankings are bs, as there is no methodology based on any factual measurement that can be used to rank. Not even grades is an accurate measurement. All you have is some insecure people trying to make themselves feel better about themselves and the choice of sorority they chose, trying to make it a competition when there is none.

FYI, why I said "so called" is there are not Old Row sororities but Old Row Fraternities. Just certain sororities get invited to participate in the big Old Row fraternity party every year. Sororities use to be identified by circles, First Circle being the prestigious one.
