sorority houses and renovations/redecorating
by: I WonderWhich houses were the first to be built on the larger/grander scale? How many years ago were the first ones built? Have they been renovated/redecorated since then? I would think they would need to be updated to keep up with the newer houses, plus I’m sure they are looking old and worn.

Yea, this actually crossed my mind a little too, but not in the same way. Feeling for older houses that paid money for older tech that was prob wasted. The houses that were at the back of the rebuild list paid a price, so if having a "newest" house helps them recoup in any way, then thats a fair way to look at things. I honestly don't think that consideration will make that any difference because all all houses are relatively new and impressively gorgeous! Most importantly, almost all have rebuilt houses now and that consideration for PNMs is more level now. (Is it only SK thats left??).

Sigma Kappa is the only sorority that is not in a new house, and they have plans to build. There are only 2 of the old houses remaining - the old ADPi house that SK is currently occupying, and the old AGD house that whoever is now building is using (although it may be empty by now). All the rest are new. The modern building phase began when Delta Gamma, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta and Delta Delta Delta built their houses 2011-2012.

All the houses are gorgeous!! But the newer houses are definitely more glamorous. The first few built set a great standard but then KD/Kappa/phi mu all threw about a billion dollars at furnishings and everything escalated from there. Personally I think aopi and dz tried to also do the glamorous thing but kind of overdid it. It’ll be interesting to see what theta and eventually SK do.
I know that both DG and ADPi have already redone living rooms and gphi redid their dining room.

I’m actually a PNM. While I would never pledge a sorority based on their house, I can (and do) have my favorites and wonder about their age/decor. I would however like to know which sorority you are a member, I will make choices on people that are nice and you are definitely not.
