combined with the list of chapter totals this is an unbiased way to see what houses can keep their membership

This is confusing because many of the NR houses take COB that make their numbers look bigger.

Does nobody at this school study abroad in their junior year? Wouldn’t that bring numbers down in spring?

Also, how can we tell which houses took COB to bring their numbers back up, and which did not?

Yes, girls do study abroad, but the rates of girls abroad are not likely to vary by chapter. The difference in retention between chapters is probably more important than the specific numbers.

Very few girls graduate early. Maybe half a dozen max per chapter - certainly not enough to account for a huge difference between one house and another.

So my point is that yes, AOPi and ADPi probably do have lots of girls abroad and maybe Theta had a lot of girls graduate early, but there is still a sizable difference between retention in houses at the top of this list versus the bottom.

I personally find this much more accurate for PNMs to follow than stereotypes about how XYZ has a great sisterhood or ABC has massive sisterhood problems.

On Spring report, can tell COB by new members added during term that does not have regular recruitment numbers. In fall, can not tell CIB as mixed with reg recruitment.

Girls in sororities study abroad, graduate in December, take spring internships, etc.

You didn't add in the number of new cob members added in the spring for the houses that did cob. Stop trying to make something out of math you don't get. People graduate.

I would take these numbers with a grain of salt. The roster is updated by chapter leadership and (speaking from experience) has a lot of potential for error. Any big purge you see could be caused by the previous roster having accumulated some extra girls who had actually dropped and them all being removed at once.

Not saying this is always the case but along with December graduates, study abroad it’s definitely a possibility.

This info pulled off the grade reports is the most informative, but posting this before the report comes out is uncomfortable. There is no way to check these numbers or methodology.
