Here’s how many girls stick around and don’t drop out after freshman or sophomore year. This is your sisterhood ranking and it’s based on actual membership numbers, so it’s not subjective.

Sisterhood absolutely plays a part in retention. However it’s also important to remember that houses with high in state numbers will naturally have bigger membership and vice versa. Local girls have a lot of societal pressure to get bids to and become alums of certain houses and are more likely to actually stay at UA. Unfortunately many OOS girls decide Alabama isn’t for them, and the ones who stay don’t have as much pressure to be a member for all 4 years.
So yes, not really subjective, but there are also a lot of factors at play.

99 percent of all statistics only tell 49 percent of the story.
Is there a drop report? All I’ve ever seen is the grade report. Don’t some girls graduate after fall semester? How many on average? 20 + or - a few? Do all sororities let you drop at the semester? (I’ve heard that there are some that won’t let you drop until the end of spring.) Also, with houses having 400+ members, I would expect 5% not to be happy at the school, have a change in their financial situation, or be unhappy with the house. (Unhappy with their house means to me that they have a personal sisterhood issue, don’t like all the rules, etc.) 5% of 400 is 20, so 40 + or - a few would be normal? It looks to me like everyone is falling in the normal range.

Some higher ranked houses must be on here constamtly try to justify their falling numbers. I will point out, some have had bad numbers for a couple of years, yet are still ranked high. PNMs, anyone can throw out a ranking, alumna, mamas, and sliding houses desperately want you to believe their false story.

The bottom four houses have around 80 less members than top houses. This is the true cost of making bottom house members feel bad about belonging to their house. These houses cost al lot of money, then to have others constantly make them feel bad anout belinging.... no wonder they drop out. All houses are fantastic here!

Not every house uses all of upper classmen quota. Retention rate is the percentage over time of members joining and then dropping and graduating, not the total in a house at one point. A better way is probably to compare spring totals with those returning in fall. Some houses pledge huge numbers during fall rush to get closer to total so looking at differences between fall and spring grade reports doesn't really show anything.
